Congo
Where we go
Destination: Congo
The Republic of Congo (Congo- Brazzaville), close to the geographical ‘Heart of Africa’, lies a near-mythical place of outstanding biodiversity. Odzala is a place very few people have ever had the chance to visit this unique, life changing opportunity to visit the forest of the Congo Basin, in safety and comfort. The Odzala-Kkoua National Park in Congo’s remote north-west is one of Africa’s oldest national parks having been proclaimed by the French administration in 1935. It is some 13 600 square kilometers (1 360 million heactares) of prisitine rainforest and is an integral part of both the Congo Basin and the Tridom Transfrontier park overlapping Gabon, Congo and Cameroon. This vast and truly wild region, with its wide range of landscapes and habitat, is home to an incredible diversity of life. Forest elephant, leopard, bongo, forest buffalo, giant forest hog and hippo live alongside the greatest density of western lowland gorilla in Africa.
