We are a local Southern Africa Travel Destination Expert Company, going on 2 decades in the tourism industry, we would love to be of assistance to add-on to your itinerary with perhaps a spending 2-3 nights at the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls (A Natural Wonder Of The World) and then connecting to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport in South Africa for an overlay before spending a further 3 nights on safari in the Greater Kruger National Park or perhaps a visit to the iconic Cape Town and experiencing the amazing attractions on offer before heading homebound.
Located in northern Zimbabwe, the life-giving power of the Zambezi River makes Mana Pools National Park one of Zimbabwe’s most lush and flourishing regions. Characterised by a diversity of landscapes including floodplains, forests, and baobab trees, the park has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its natural beauty; providing a fantastic destination for photographers. It is an Important Bird Area and is also one of the continent’s premier game-viewing locations, known for its good chances of seeing elephants, wild dogs, lions, and leopards. Mana Pools is also home to crocodiles, hippos, cheetahs, and eastern black rhinos. Visitors can look forward to an array of activities such as canoe trips, guided walks, game drives, river cruises, nature walks, bird watching, catch-and-release fishing, and searching for dinosaur tracks.
Located in western Zimbabwe, Hwange National Park (formerly Wankie Game Reserve) is the largest natural reserve in the country and is famous for its rich diversity of wildlife. Home to one of the biggest elephant populations in the world, as well as around 100 mammal species, the park is popular among animal lovers. Several protected species inhabit the awe-inspiring open landscapes, including the endangered wild dog, critically endangered black rhino, and rare roan and sable - along with lion, cheetah, and around 500 bird species. Adventurers can look forward to guided bush hikes, game drives, and horse riding safaris, all of which offer excellent photographic opportunities.
Itineraries
Day 1
MANA POOLS NATIONAL PARK
Morning rise and breakfast at your pre-safari accommodation (We can arrange this for you) departing from OR Tambo Int. Airport, Johannesburg on Fly Airlink, arriving at Harare International Airport where a representative will meet with you before departing from Harare Int. Airport via Safari Logistics Charter and arriving at Mana Pools Landing Airstrip.
A Zambezi Expeditions staff member will be waiting to Meet and Greet and its then a short bush transfer from Mana Pools Airport to Zambezi Expeditions
Once you have been checked-in, a staff member will show you around the lodge before you settle into your comfortable Luxury Meru Suite with lunch served overlooking the incredible landscape and mighty Zambezi.
Late afternoon/night game drive with Mid-way stop for sundowners before returning back to Zambezi Expeditions by night fall with dinner served under the African night skies (Weather permitting)
Day 2-3
MANA POOLS NATIONAL PARK
Early morning rise and meet up at the main lodge with your guide (tracker) for some coffee/tea and rusks before departing from camp on your morning safari experience as the sunrises and the wildlife are active (Experience a pit-stop for some coffee/tea in between the game drive while Africa’s wildlife surrounds you in the wilderness) and then returning back to the camp +-3-hours later for a well-deserved breakfast with the rest of the day at your own leisure.
Late afternoon/night game drive (Mid-way stop for sundowners) before returning back to Zambezi Expeditions by night fall with dinner served under the African night skies (Weather permitting)
Please note the below activities can be exchanged for your morning and late afternoon game drives:
Optional: Bush Walk with a qualified and professional trails guide (16 years and older)
Optional: Zambezi Canoeing Experience with qualified and professional river guides
Optional: Enjoy your luck at catching fish from the Zambezi River
Day 4
SOUTHERN HWANGE NATIONAL PARK
Early morning rise with your luggage is packed and ready for staff to collect while you enjoy a sumptuous breakfast before departing from Zambezi Expeditions on a game drive en-route to Mana Pools Landing Airstrip for your onward journey and arriving at Manga Landing Airstrip on Safari Logistics Charters
A Somalisa Expeditions staff member will be waiting to Meet and Greet and you'll be transferred on short bush transfer by road from Manga landing Airport to Somalisa Expeditions
Upon arrival staff members will be waiting to welcome you before showing you around the lodge and settling you into your comfortable Luxury Tented Suite.
Late afternoon/night game drive with a Mid-way stop for sundowners before returning back to Somalisa Expeditions by night fall
Pre-dinner drinks – sit around the boma fire or bar while you socialise and talk of your amazing wildlife sightings of the eve with dinner served under the African night skies (Weather permitting)
Day 5-6
SOUTHERN HWANGE NATIONAL PARK
Early morning rise and m up at the main lodge with your guide (tracker) for some coffee/tea and rusks before departing from camp on your morning safari experience as the sunrises and the wildlife are active (Experience a pit-stop for some coffee/tea in between the game drive while Africa’s wildlife surrounds you in the wilderness) and then returning back to the camp +-3-hours later for a well-deserved breakfast with the rest of the day at your own leisure
Late afternoon/night game drive (Mid-way stop for sundowners) before returning back to Somalisa Expeditions by night fall

Day 7
SOUTHERN HWANGE NATIONAL PARK TO VICTORIA FALLS AIRPORT
Early morning rise and your luggage is packed and ready for staff to collect while you enjoy a sumptuous breakfast.
Bid farewell and checkout before departing from Somalisa Expeditions on a game drive en-route to Manga Landing Airstrip for your onward journey.
Depart from Manga Landing Airstrip on Safari Logistics Charter and arriving at Victoria Falls International Airport for your flight homebound

The legendary Mana Pools is known for its wildlife rich flood plains and magnificent views of the Zambezi River, with the Zambezi Escarpment in Zambia as a dramatic backdrop to the scenery. The river boasts some of Africa’s most amazing tiger fishing and adventure canoeing safaris, creating the perfect combination of beauty and fun and making this World Heritage site a must-visit national park.
Zambezi Expeditions offers one of the best ways to experience Mana Pools on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. Comfortable yet classic, the camp offers the kind of intimacy with nature that can only be achieved by immersing yourself in the heart of the wild. Fall asleep to the sound of the flowing river and chuckles of hippo and wake-up with the dawn chorus to a spectacular African sunrise. The 12-bed luxury camp comprises of 6 twin bedded mini-meru style tents with en-suite bathroom facilities and bucket showers.
With unique access to the Zambezi River, your days will be filled with adventurous canoeing safaris, tracking game along the shorelines by foot, fishing for the iconic tiger fish and game drives in an open 4x4 along the flood plains and into the heart of the Mana Pools UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Somalisa Expeditions is set in the heart of Hwange National Park and is known as the land of the giants for its big elephant herds. As an exact replica of the original Somalisa Camp, Somalisa Expeditions offers one of the most authentic ways to experience this exceptional wildlife haven. Nestled under an incredible grove of Acacias, along the edge of a seasonal flood plain.
Somalisa Expeditions' main area includes a lounge and dining area on raised decking which overlooks a small pool, which elephants have become habituated to drinking out of. Add to this, the waterhole, frequently used as a 'mud-bath' and a popular rendezvous for the elephants. The up-close encounters and photographic opportunities with these majestic animals are endless.
Consisting of six elegantly furnished Meru Style Tents, each tent has en suite bathroom facilities with an outdoor feel. Activities include guided walks lead by qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you, game drives and night drives. Wildlife sighting include elephant, kudu, sable antelope, zebra, wildebeest, gemsbok, the rare and endangered roan antelope, buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, hyena and many other wildlife species.
